A region is a named geographic area where Ottili Cloud runs infrastructure. Regions let you place workloads close to users, meet data-residency expectations, and keep resources logically separated by location.
Why regions matter
- Latency*: running closer to users reduces round-trip time for interactive workloads.
- Residency*: some data must stay within a specific geography. A region is the unit you reason about for that.
- Isolation*: resources in different regions are separated by location as well as by project and company.
How regions relate to the rest of Cloud
Regions sit beneath projects and resources: a project runs in a region, and the compute, storage and networking inside it are placed there. Choosing a region is therefore an early decision when you provision infrastructure.
Availability
Regions are being established as part of the Ottili Cloud Early Access build-out. Specific region names and their live status are published on the product and status pages rather than invented here. Until a region is live, this documentation does not present it as orderable.
