Overview
Ottili Cloud measures what your company actually consumes and charges for that usage on a company-scoped basis — following the same principle as the rest of Ottili ONE: one login, one company, one shared context. This article explains what usage is measured, how billing works, how budgets and quotas bound it, and where you can always see your own usage.
Ottili Cloud is currently in Early Access* (not generally available). Compute is reachable through the Early Access program; storage, networking, databases, containers, serverless and AI infrastructure are planned and not yet orderable. Where a capability is not yet live, we say so plainly.
How usage is measured
Usage is measured per resource and attributed to the company (and project) that generated it. Typical meters include:
- Compute*: instances, vCPUs and memory (see [Compute](/docs/cloud-compute)).
- Storage*: block and object storage in GB (see [Storage concepts](/docs/storage-concepts) and [Cloud storage](/docs/cloud-storage)).
- Networking*: egress traffic, addresses, firewalls and load balancers (see [Networks and routes](/docs/networks-and-routes) and [Cloud networking](/docs/cloud-networking)).
- Containers, databases and serverless*: as those categories become available through Early Access.
- AI infrastructure*: compute-bound AI workloads on the cloud.
Every resource belongs to exactly one company (company_id). That is the tenant boundary that keeps usage and cost from ever mixing across company lines.
How billing works
- Company-scoped usage*: usage is attributed to your company and reported per project and resource.
- Credit-based usage*: where the platform uses credits, execution is credit-metered. You are not charged without explicit confirmation.
- Public pricing*: final public prices are announced before general availability. We do not publish invented prices or SLAs for services that are not yet defined.
The billing boundary is your [Cloud account](/docs/cloud-accounts) — the same Ottili account you use for Ottili Coder and Ottili ONE. There is no separate cloud login.
Budgets and quotas
Ottili Cloud distinguishes two bounding mechanisms, both enforced company-scoped:
- Budget cap (money)*: a maximum amount your company or a single project may spend on cloud resources in a billing period. More in [Budget caps](/docs/budget-caps).
- Quota (resource)*: a maximum number of resources — such as instances, vCPUs, RAM, storage or API rates (see [Cloud quotas](/docs/cloud-quotas)).
Both act before provisioning: before new resources are provisioned, the engine checks the remaining quota and budget. If either is insufficient, the action is rejected with a clear error — no unintended overspend occurs. Who may set budgets and quotas follows the same role model as the rest of the platform; programmatic management goes through the cloud control-plane API at /api/v1/cloud and requires the cloud:billing:manage permission (read: cloud:billing:read).
Where you can see usage and cost
- Ottili Cloud Console* (cloud.ottili.one): the surface where budgets, quotas and live usage are viewed and controlled as they become available as self-service.
- Cloud APIs*: programmatic access to billing and quotas through
/api/v1/cloud. - Settings → Billing* in the Ottili ONE dashboard: platform-wide usage, credits and wallets (see [Usage & hard limits](/docs/usage-and-limits) and [Billing overview](/docs/billing-overview)).
Status and availability
Ottili Cloud is in Early Access* (not generally available). The current, honest status:
- Reachable:* Compute through the Early Access program.
- Planned:* storage, networking, databases, containers, serverless and AI infrastructure — not yet orderable.
- Billing:* during Early Access, billing follows the same honest pricing posture as the rest of the platform; final public prices are announced before general availability.
How Ottili ONE labels maturity publicly is described in [Understand feature status labels](/docs/understand-feature-status-labels).
